Gatlin Damnosus


This sour ale is produced by aging our Horn Of The Beer Barleywine in bourbon barrels for extended periods of time (up to 2 years.) The aroma is reminiscent of earthy red wines with a background of caramel and honey and just a hint of wood and sourness. The flavor is intensely sour with a touch of acetic acid and notes of brown malt, toast, and ripe red fruit.  The bourbon character adds a savory, woody component that yields subtle notes of coconut and vanilla.

ABV: 11.5%

Barrels:  Wild Turkey® Bourbon

Yeast/Bacteria:  House yeast, Pediococcus Damnosus

Length of barrel-aging:  Up to 2 years
