Holy Gose Wins Gold at The World Beer Cup
On May 5th The World Beer Cup was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota to celebrate and acknowledge outstanding beers from around the world. Organized by the Brewers Association, the 2022 edition featured 111 beer categories, with gold, silver, and bronze awards given only when judges deemed three excellent examples in each category.
The competition is held every two years and judged by over 200 highly qualified beer professionals, and this year we are proud to announce that our Holy Gose won Gold for German-Style Sour Ale. With a bright, golden color and tight creamy head, earthy undertones and a hint of lemon zest and tropical fruit this tangy beer is reminiscent of a fresh sea breeze.
“What an honor to have our Holy Gose win a Gold Medal at the World Beer Cup. It takes a lot of people at the brewery all doing their job right to get there; the brewers, the cellar crew, packaging, warehousing – everyone. It is something our entire team should be very proud of. Congratulations and thank you to the entire Anderson Valley Brewing Team.” –Brewmaster Fal Allen
We’ve become known for Goses here at AVBC. Brewmaster Fal literally wrote the book on the brewing style, and it’s the Holy Gose that put this tart classic from Goslar, Germany back on the map. Known as the gateway Gose, this beer is credited with introducing the style to American craft beer fans when it was first brewed in 2014.
