The Beers Are Calling And You Must Go

After the Boonville Beer Festival we took a few days to rest and recover, but this week something still felt off. Instead of consulting a medical professional we did what all patients do these days and typed our symptoms into Google; turns out we have spring fever. It’s an itch we can’t scratch, a feeling of wanderlust that’s had us doom scrolling to find more sud-centric activities and locales. While we’re not properly qualified to treat, diagnose or prevent any actual medical conditions we can help you plan your next beer getaway.

Thirty Acres of Disc Golf, Craft Beer Tasting and… Home brew?

On May 21st we are excited to host the Mendocino County Home Brew Festival from 3-6pm at Beer Park. The afternoon will feature brewers from around Northern California competing to become both the people’s choice and the brewer’s choice winners. The event encompasses all fermented beverages with proceeds benefiting the Mendocino County Fire Safe Council. Why is home brewing so near and dear to us at Anderson Valley Brewing Company?

“I was a home brewer, and most brewers I know either started as home brewers, picked up home brewing while learning to brew commercially or eventually ended up home brewing despite the fact that they do it for a living.  I think home brewing is critical, if not essential, to everything that craft beer has come to embody. The ability to home brew not only develops skills that brewers can take and scale up into commercial breweries, but I think more importantly it allows a new generation of American beer drinkers access to a breadth of beer styles they didn’t know existed. The spirit of ingenuity and experimentation that unerringly comes along with each person’s home brewing journey is the mother of the craft beer and craft brewing culture we know and love. Home brewing has opened a whole new world of beer.” -President and CEO Kevin McGee

Situated on thirty acres and featuring an eighteen hole disc golf course, Beer Park has food vendors and live music most weekends in the spring and summer. For a full list of activities check out our Events page, and follow our new AVBC Beer Park social media account on Facebook and Instagram.

And, while these destinations play well with any AVBC beverage, we’ve picked a few spots that pair particularly well with our Goses.
