In honor of National Watermelon Day, we decided to play around with the classic gin fizz for a refreshing beer cocktail. In place of the traditional lemon juice and soda, we using our Briney Melon Gose for acidity and carbonation but chose to make our own fresh watermelon-infused gin to turn up the melon factor. The result is a bright and tasty cocktail that’s super easy to make!
Watermelon Gin Fizz
2oz Watermelon-infused gin* (we like Bulldog®)
.5oz simple syrup
8oz-ish of Briney Melon Gose
Fill a shaker glass with ice and add the gin and simple syrup, shake well. Double strain into a pint glass 1/2 filled with ice. Fill with Briney Melon Gose and stir, then garnish with a watermelon wedge. Bahl Hornin’!
*Watermelon-infused gin: You can make as much or as little as you wish. Cut watermelon into 1/2″ chunks and place in a container. Add gin until watermelon is completely submerged. Cover and set in refrigerator for 24-48 hours (longer time=more watermelon flavor.)
