Anderson Valley Huge Arker Beer Mile Rules
The Anderson Valley Huge Arker Beer Mile runs to it own beat and its own rules. Pretty much like everything else at the brewery. (Very) loosely based off the Official Beer Mile Rules (https://www.beermile.com/rules/1) the rules for the HABM are as follows.
First – everyone runs as a 4 or 2 person relay unless they get special “PRO” permission to run individually. Relay teams are Co-Ed. Check in with Brewery staff if you want to run “PRO.”
- Each competitor drinks a 5oz cup of Huge Arker per lap (flavor is up to you but fyi the coffee Huge Arker does not contain enough caffeine to have a material performance enhancing effect).
- A complete run is four laps around the quarter mile “track” marked out with bourbon barrels. Drink an Arker, then run a lap, then Arker, then lap, then Arker, then lap, then Arker, then lap – finish.
- Beer must be completely consumed before the lap begins and behind the lap start line. You can move around while drinking but don’t cross the line for the lap until finished. Relay teams must high-five to make a handoff before the next runner starts drinking.
- Women and men drink the same amount of beer. We’ll be awarding Men’s and Women’s winners in the “PRO” tier.
- Vomiting is not encouraged but also not a big deal. We don’t judge. You do you. Competitors who vomit during or after completing the race are not disqualified at the HABM but will be encouraged to “rally” after “booting.”
- Please note that all rules will be enforced by the Rule Goats who live in the pasture next to the starting line. Do not mess with the Rule Goats. All rule determinations made by the Rule Goats are final and subject to replay review only at the request of management, who categorically declines to request replay review. Ever.
- Don’t plan on driving after the HABM. Arrange for a designated driver or plan on an Uber/Lyft/Rickshaw.
