Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout

Newly Released 22oz Bottle

Boonville, CA (April 30, 2013) – Expanding its first line of world-class bourbon barrel-aged craft beers, Anderson Valley Brewing Company and Wild Turkey® Bourbon announced today that Anderson Valley Brewery has begun bottled production of its Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout.

Anderson Valley and Wild Turkey will continue to work together in the coming months on a variety of exciting promotional opportunities to engage fans and introduce them to the quality and authenticity of Bourbon barrel-aged products. Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout draft and bottle product will be available in 22 oz. bottles in several states including: California, New York, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Massachusetts, Colorado, Kentucky, Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and New Jersey amongst others by the end of June.

This once draft-only product was released in the fall 2012 as part of an exclusive partnership between Anderson Valley Brewing Company and Wild Turkey® Bourbon. As part of the partnership, Anderson Valley Brewing Company has been using repurposed American oak barrels from the famed bourbon brand’s Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, to age the award-winning Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout.

“The bourbon stout has been popular since its debut and is the result of a great partnership,” said Jimmy Russell, Wild Turkey Master Distiller. “Anderson Valley Brewing takes pride and care in crafting their beer; it’s similar to the approach we take with our bourbon. Together we produced a great craft beer and are excited to get it in the hands of more folks!”

“The partnership with the Bourbon Hall of Fame Russell family and Wild Turkey has been tremendously exciting,” said Trey White, Anderson Valley owner and CEO. “Collaboration on this bourbon stout is just the beginning. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Russell’s and exploring new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.”

Anderson Valley’s Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is aged to perfection for three months. The resulting beer is deep ebony in hue with a beautiful mahogany head, an aroma of fresh-baked bread, toffee, and espresso mingling with the woody vanilla notes of Bourbon whiskey and the rich roasted flavors wrapped with Bourbon.

I am the Bar Manager at the Story Inn in Indiana. I have heard that your products are wonderful and would like to know if you have an Indiana distributor so that I can carry some of your beers.

      Hi Bill,

Although Indiana is a wonderful state with a burgeoning craft beer scene, it is not part of our current distribution network and we do not have plans to open new markets for the remainder of 2013. We look forward to the day when we can be part of events at the Story Inn and beyond… Bahl Hornin’!

Hello. I am hoping this beer is still available in Southern California. I know Total Wine and Bevmo were carrying it, but I haven’t seen it as of late. Am I understanding correctly (from this posting) that it will be more widely available by the end of June? Or can you provide me any retailers near the zip code 92352 that have recently ordered it? Ideally, this beer would be available year round!!

Thanks very much. Keep making great beer!

Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout can be found on draft at Lake Arrowhead Sports Grill 27200 HWY 189 Lake Arrowhead, CA 92317. For other retailers or to increase the radius of the search please use our Beer Finder or contact our distributor Wine Warehouse South 800 331-2829

I remember when the Sports Grille here in Arrowhead had it on tap, but unfortunately that was months ago and it went quickly. And when I did a search of retailers, all of them within reasonable drive had sold out already. I will try Wine Warehouse South. Any chance this would ever become a year-round offering?

        • Steve Miller June 16, 2013 9:39 pm #

Hi Andres, our Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout is part of our year-round core line-up. That being said, it sells out fast! But we are continuing to add more barrel capacity, so hopefully more will be coming your way soon!

I was fortunate enough to score 3 bottles of Huge Arker last year. I just consumed the 3rd and final bottle last night and I’m already mourning my loss. It was even more superb with a little cellar time. I was wondering if you kind people are intending on brewing more of that magical elixir. I see info on the website about the lower abv bourbon barrel stout but no mention of the Huge Arker. Please tell me this is a repeat in progress.
    Wishing you continued success,

      Hi Jeff,

We will be releasing Huge Arker in January, have no fear! We’re truly glad you enjoyed it, bahl hornin’!
