Northern California Sales Team Opening:North Bay / North Coast – Area Sales Manager

Anderson Valley Brewing Company is adding a sales position in the Northern California region. The Area Sales Manager will work with AVBC management and assigned distributors to achieve company goals. Details for job duties; responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing and maintaining proper inventory levels.
• Responsible for meeting or exceeding all sales goals.
• Responsible for developing a relationship with distributor management and employees.
• Responsible for setting up, attending, and overseeing various promotions in assigned sales territory (bar promos, beer festivals, off-premise store promos, etc.).
• Responsible for establishing new business in on-premise and off-premise accounts.
• Responsible for fostering relationships with existing key on-premise and off-premise retailers.
• Responsible for working with distributor employees to capitalize on sales and distribution opportunities.
• Responsible for planning and participating in regular distributor sales meetings (general sales meetings, regional breakout meetings, etc.).
Other qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Multiple years of sales experience in the beverage industry (distributor and brewery experience) preferred.
• Prior knowledge of Anderson Valley Brewing Company and AVBC beers preferred.
• Detail oriented, possessing excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to accomplish multiple tasks with reasonable time management.
• Ability to analyze sales data (experience with VIP – iDIG preferred).
• Ability to develop and execute a market plan, an incentive plan, and sales plans.
• Valid drivers license required
• Reliable vehicle, with up to date insurance required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word.
• Is comfortable participating in social media, i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Position Title: Brewery Packaging Manager

The Packaging Manager will be responsible for the following, in addition to new initiatives, consistently work on packaging shifts running machinery and managing staff and machines to make the highest quality packaged beer possible.

• Select, manage, and train all packaging personnel.
• Thorough record-keeping
• Continued development of SOPs for packaging positions.
• Work with Head Brewer, and QA Lab to improve package quality/shelf life.
• Maintain inventory levels of packaging material on hand to meet production goals.
• Work with maintenance manager/Filler Tech to implement and oversee preventative maintenance on packaging machinery.
• Quickly identify and communicate existing or potential issues.
• Work with the maintenance department to maintain proper and orderly packaging parts inventory
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Position reports to Brewery Operations Director

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
• Minimum 3-5 years production brewery experience
•Technical knowledge in all of the packaging process
• A good general knowledge of the brewing process
• Strong mechanical background and
• A good understanding of sanitation
• Experience working with carbonated beverage packaging equipment
• Experience managing employees
• Knowledge of OSHA & safety standards
• Engineering/manufacturing experience
• A knowledge of and passion for craft beer

GENERAL
• Flexibility and a good attitude
• Good communication skills
• The ability to work independently and manage a team
• Ability to work safely near moving mechanical parts and work in a moderate noise level
• Must be neat, orderly and understand that thorough cleaning is essential in a brewery environment
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling/safety
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, crouch, and work in tight spaces

Position Title: Brewer

Job Description:
Operate a custom 100bbl brewhouse. Early mornings, late nights, and/or weekend shifts.
Reports To: Lead Brewer, Director of Brewery Operations

Physical Requirements:
Standing for extended periods of time
Safely handling hot water, pumps, and brewing equipment
Safely handling chemicals and properly using safety equipment (PPE).
Crouching, ducking, and climbing stairs several times per day.
Lifting 55lbs above head height repeatedly.

Qualifications:
Experience in a brewery or production environment.
Familiarity with large-scale brewing techniques & safety practices.
Brewing School or some other formal brewing education is a plus.
Formal education or training in brewing science is a plus.
