Anderson Valley Brewing Company would like to congratulate and celebrate these
fine individuals who have shown a sterling commitment
to their love of fine ales, an awesome display of drive and commitment, and a
rewarding thirst for fun.
Here's to the Boontling Bottlecap Collectors
You too can be immortalized right here in the Hall of Foam.
Here's How!
|
|
#1. Brandy Flower
50 Caps
Los Angeles, CA
Brandy gets extra credit (note the Gold Stars), not just for sending along a
translation for each
Boontling (and one German) phrase on his caps, but also for doing it SO NEATLY!
Along with his fifty caps, he sent a numbered list of the caps' sayings, with
each cap's serial number, a transcription, and a translation (if requireded).
And to top all of that off, his email address uses the Boontling word "boarch".
Don't know what that means? Check it out on our
Boontling
page

#2. Mal & Julie Towery
All 100 Caps
San Luis Obispo, CA
Mal and Julie, who originally sent 82 caps to get into the Hall of Foam, have completed the full set, to enter the Order of the Heelch Horner. We welcome them to the ranks!
Their afternoon ritual involving CNN, Boont Amber,
and cheese and crackers or chips offered the perfect opportunity to skunk you
slowpokes out there.
|
#3. Robert Knoderer
Roseville, CA
ALL 100 Caps Series A
ALL 100 Caps Series B
Whopping 200 Caps Total!
Robert Knoderer entered the foamy ranks with fifty caps, but on October 19th,
2004, he became our Second
Heelch Horner
, by sending in the remaining fifty. Robert made good use of his award by
dropping by the brewery with his wife Rosalind, for his VIP Brewery Tour and a
carriage ride (pictured above). Yahoo! Go heelch Horners!
|
#4. Ryan Flower
50 Caps
Santa Ana, CA
Ryan Flower (recognize the last name? That's his brother, Brandy, Hall of
Foamer #1 beside him) makes a splash at Number 4. It was close though. There
was a repeated cap in his collection. Fortunately for Ryan, he sent 51 caps, so
he still had the full complement of 50 unique designs. Well Done Ryan!
|
#5. Shawn Flower
52 Caps
Santa Ana, CA
Shawn Flower. Hmmm. There seems to be a trend going here. That's right, it's
another of the Flower Brothers. 52 unique caps and no repeats. The Flower
Brothers say "now all we have to do is get Monm and Dad in there." We say "The
family that horns together, hangs together." Plenty Bahl!
|
#6. Mike Allen
ALL 100 Caps
Merced, CA
Our first Heelch Horner!! Originally Mike sent in 99 caps,
but he just sent in the missing cap to complete his set. All 100 caps! Not
only is he a super-collector, he sent translations to all the Boontling and
rebuses (rebi?), so it's Extra Extra Credit for Mike!
|
#7. Jesse Joaquin
Redding, CA
50 Caps
Now here's a guy who knows what he likes. A true Hop Head, who's found an ale
that suits his tastes. We like his flair for interior design too. Bahl
Hornin' Jesse!
|
#8. Jon McGowan
Redding, CA
51 Caps
Hmmm. Similar composition. Both from Redding. Hey, even the carpet's the same.
Another family dynasty beginning? No, but Jon and Jesse are friends, and,
obviously, drinking buddies who know what they like. Jon sent 52 caps, but had
a repeat on #88, so we can only count 51. Still enough to make it!
|
#9. Fritz Lorenz
Costa Mesa, CA
52 Caps
Here's Fritz' bid for the Hall of Foam. Don't let the picture fool you. Fritz
is a stand up guy and he doesn't take this honor lying down. He takes it
seriously - no repeats in his collection of 52. All unique. Good going Fritz.
You've earned a rest in that hammock.
|
#10. Eric Nielsen
Salinas, CA
50 Caps
And rounding out the Top Ten, is Eric Nielsen, shown here at the Salinas Air
Show, in 1995-2005. A man with a love for machines that fly fast and beers with
flavor. Cheers, Eric, just don't share with the pilots before the next show.
|
|
That was fun, let's keep going. All those runner-up Hall of Foamers that
didn't make it into the Top Ten will still get their photo posted here, and
receive a bumper sticker and keychain. Keep collecting those caps!
|
#11. Boomer White
Napa, CA
500 Caps (Yes, 500 CAPS! 5 sets of all 100)
Great Googly Moogly! Here's a man who knows what he likes! Boomer White (with his lovely wife Lydia at one of their favorite pubs) sent in Five Full Sets of Boontling caps. He says he and Lydia like to order "BoontMeals" (3/4 Boont Amber and 1/4 Barney Flats). Boomer also added a common sentiment in the Napa Valley, "It takesa heelch of bahl steinber to make a bahl frattey!" Thanks for the support Boomer!
|
#12. Dean Nielsen Salinas, Ca 50 Caps
Another dynasty has started. Dean is a cousin of Hall of Foamer #10, Eric Nielsen. He dropped by the brewery for our Legendary Boonville Beer fest in May, 2005, and dropped off his caps. He looked almost as excited about the festival in person as he does in the photo above. Welcome to the club, Dean.
|
#13. Steve Cuchetti
Arcata, CA
50 Caps
Welcome to the ranks Steve. Steve was hoping to make it into the Hall at number thirteen, and it looks like he made it. He also shared with us his goal in life... To collect the remaining 50 caps! We'll be happy to update your write-up when you accomplish your mission, Steve.
|
#14. Brendon Mitchell
San Rafael, CA
61 Caps
Brendon says that he's been enjoying our brews for years, and Hop Ottin' is always his first choice. "Thank you for bringing so much deliciousness to my fridge. Cock a Fister!"
|
#15. Steve Mitchell
Via Grande, CA
50 Caps
Steve's caps came in the same box with Brendan and the next two guys. You think maybe Steve and Brendan are related?
|
#16. Chris Murphy Fairfax, CA 50 Caps |
#17. Izzy Ozari San Rafael, CA 50 Caps |
We're not quite sure which is Chris and which one's Iggy, but here they are anyway, in all their glory
|
#18. Nick Peters
Novato, CA
50 Caps
Welcome to the ranks Nick. That's Nick on the right with his friend Brad on the left. They're taking a beer break during a game of disc golf right here at the Brewery
|
#19. Ken Hainey
San Jose, CA
50 Caps
Here's Ken Hainey (you can tell, because he's got his name on his tee shirt (take a hint Chris and Iggy)), a man out standing in his feld. Ken says, "We shot this picture looking into the sun, so it looks like I've had 15 beers." So that's how you collected those fifty caps, Ken.
|
#20. Brandon Williams
Arcata, CA
101 Caps !
Brandon personally delivered his collection of 100 caps to the brewery, and toasted his success in the Tasting Room. He brought along the rest of his caps to show off (roughly 235 in the other bag) and upon review, his collection actually contained 101 caps. Atta boy, Brandon. Nice job!
|
#21. Mark Cinna
Pittsburgh, PA
54 Caps
Mark, here with wife Lisa, gets onto the page with a few over the required fifty, and they certainly look happy about it. Mark and Lisa are dedicated fans, and travelled accross the nation for our 10th Annual Boonville Beer Festival, here in Boonville. Hope you had a good time, Folks!
|
#22. Chris Bell Arcata, CA All 100 Caps | |
#23. Larson Estefan Arcata, CA All 100 Caps |
Chris and Larson (your guess is as good as ours, which one is which) are friends of Brandon Williams, Hall of Foamer #20. Seems like we're growing Heelch Horners in Arcata. Thanks for joining us guys!
|
#24. Riley McIntire
Highland Park, CA
99 Caps
So close, So CLOSE! Riley actually sent a total of 108 caps, but seven were repeats, two were blank, and #87 was nowhere to be found. With all the extra caps, we almost feel he should get full marks, but a deal's a deal - Gotta have all 100 printed caps to be in the ranks of the Heelch Horners. Don't worry Riley, if you find that elusive #87 and send it in, we'll upgrade you.
|
#. 25 Kari & Leith Sorenson
Moscow, ID
55 Caps
Kari and Leith enter at number 25 - Hey! We've hit the Quarter-Century mark!
Welcome to the Hall of Foam and all the fame and glory that goes with it!
|
#. 26 Jason
Sylmar, CA
ALL 100 Caps Series A
ALL 100 Caps Series B
Whopping 200 Caps Total!
I am a 29-year-old student of anything outdoors. At the end of a long hike there is nothing better than a cold Boont waiting in the ice chest back at the car. This long hike with my best bro Chuck in Yosemite began at three in the morning and 17 miles later it ended with a BOONT. What a life. Cheers.
|
#. 27 Dan
Cedar Pines Park, CA
50 Caps
"Anyone who doesn't like beer, clearly doesn't know about BOONT." I'm just glad to be able to share one with my nephews after a long day in the field.
|
#. 28 Chad
Sylmar, CA
101 Caps
I am a Family man and a hard worker. At the end of a long day of construction or a hard days hunt there is nothing better than a cold brew. It's just a good thing my hunting partners drink BOONT. Hopefully next year the DFG offers "BEER" tags.
|
#. 29 Chuck
Simi Valley, CA
79 Caps
After years of drinking BOONT, and claiming it as my all time favorite, I was told by my bro Jason that the bottle caps were part of a contest. So my collection started late. I was with my bro Jason of that Yosemite hike and that hike didn't end with a BOONT, it ended with many BOONTS! Yee Braw.
|
#. 30 Alex Oshima
San Francisco, CA
100 Caps
I came up last Thursday with some friends and fellow Hall of Foamers,
spent the day in Boonville, and dropped off my bottle caps. I have to
say it was amazing. Everyone in the brewery and in town were
incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was everything I'd hoped for and
more. I felt like the Jesus riding into Jerusalem, riding into
Boonville on my donkey made of 100 bottle caps, all the while Barkley
and his group of locals fanned me with palm branches.
|
#. 31 Russell Yeager
Roseville, CA
180 Caps
The photo is from 2006 Boonville Beer Fest, I've now been to 2 of them. I became a HUGE fan of AVBC after discovering Summer Solstice last year. It's my favorite beer and I couldn't wait for it to hit stores this year. I really wish there was something like Summer and Winter that was available all year long!!!
|
#. 32 Ken Eastham
Bellingham, WA
56 Caps
Thanks for such a great beer. It's getting easier to find way up here! See you at Boont Fest!
|
#. 33 Dave August
Monterey, CA
99 Caps
Gee ya know When I started collecting the caps I had no idea there was some kinda contest. I'm obviously the compulsive type and hey I drink Boont so when I saw the numbers on the quotes....
I've also attached a picture of me on my 1/8 scale live steam locomotive that's also Boont powered.. if you look closley you see that's a Boont six pack side I have stuck on the tank car.. :-) The horns on the bear and the antlers on the locomotive light always start conversations... Oh and if ya care.. yes I built the locomotive... I did say I was compulsive..
