Monitor Quality

1. I am Andy Hooper
2. My job is to monitor quality along the process stream from grain to glass. I am also responsible for wastewater treatment and laboratory operations.
3. My first beer was a homebrew.
4. I fell in love with beer the day I made it my career…
5. I began brewing with my Dad and uncles in the 90s. In college, I homebrewed religiously and served a term as President of the Cal Poly Brew Crew. After a few less-than-glamorous jobs at a couple breweries, I attended the UC Davis Master Brewers Program with the purpose of going big-time. I answered the call to serve AVBC in October of 2009.
6. I collect firearms and Labrador retrievers. My dogs are armed to the teeth – pun intended.
7. #1 most played song on my iPod is – Nothing. I don’t own a damn iPod.  Andy – 1; Steve Jobs – 0.
8. I love the sound of a throaty big block V8.
9. My childhood hero was Frank Sinatra.
10. My favorite food is bacon.
11. The best part of waking up is coffee and breakfast with the wife.
12. If I had a soundtrack to my work day it would be Dio – Holy Diver.
